About the Programs:

HFHMM provides Low-Cost Home Repair and Weatherization services to income-qualified homeowners throughout Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. These services address critical health and safety concerns, energy efficiency and weatherization improvements and/or code violations.

Applicants must earn less than 80% of area median income as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and are required to participate in sweat equity hours.

Eligible homes will undergo a full-home assessment on a first come first serve basis. However, once all of our funding is allocated toward the homes we have assessed, homeowners who have not been signed with Habitat will have to wait for the next round of funding which is applicable to their needs. At that time, they will be required to submit a new application as well as up-to-date income verification, and proof of homeowners insurance.

No applicant is guaranteed any services until an agreement for services is signed with HFHMM. Work scopes for each home we are able to serve are determine by the results of the home assessment, available funding and the applicant’s ability to repay a portion of the cost within 6 months of completion of work.

Repayment amount for repairs will be scaled based upon income level with a minimum payment of $125 on any project.  Weatherization work is free of charge.
