Maryland Pride Build
In 2011 and 2012 HFHMM partnered with the LGBTQA community to rehabilitate a single family home in Wheaton, Maryland. This close collaboration between HFHMM and the local LGBTQA community raise funds and provided volunteer hours for work on the home. The team included a diverse collection of highly energized volunteers including several local and state government officials as well as major sponsorships from the Sanford and Doris Slavin Foundation, Morey Bernstein Memorial Foundation, One Marriott, PFLAG National, National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, District Title, Washington Blade, the Montgomery College Foundation and many, many more. The proud homebuyers were a wonderful family of four.
HFHMM is re-launching its Pride Build program to span the course of two weeks over 10/15/2016 – 10/29/2016. This year’s goal is to recruit 10 teams of 10-15 individuals who will collectively volunteer over 100 hours and raise $25,000 for a rehabilitation property in Prince George’s County. Whether you would like to join as an individual or as a large group, we would love to have you! Find out more here.
