Honoring A Life of Service: President Carter
At Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland, we join the nation and the world in sending our thoughts and prayers to the family of former U.S. President Carter — an exceptional advocate for human rights and the dignity of all people.
Driven by his commitment to social justice and basic human rights, President Carter dedicated his life to manifesting his faith by alleviating human suffering. The Carter Center has championed human rights and conflict resolution since 1982. For more than 35 years, President and Mrs. Carter have led the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project for Habitat for Humanity International. Alongside hundreds of thousands of volunteers, President and Mrs. Carter have restored over 4,000 Habitat for Humanity Homes in 14 different countries around the world.
President Carter has helped open the doors to brighter futures for thousands of Habitat homeowners. We are honoring President Carter and his life, service, and commitment to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing.

Come and acknowledge President Carter's life of service and commitment to human rights by leaving your signature.
The memorial photo signing will begin on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at both ReStore locations.
