Dear Friends of Affordable Housing,
As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the accomplishments of Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland (HFHMM). Together, staff, volunteers, donors, board members, and community partners have made a significant impact on the lives of 78 families served in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties. This brings us to 656 families impacted since our founding more than 40 years ago and this is made possible through activities in home construction, home preservation, Habitat ReStores and advocacy. To all of you that donated your time, talent and treasures, we sincerely thank you!
Your dedication and unwavering commitment are the driving forces behind Habitat’s success. This past year was marked by significant milestones as we remain committed to Habitat’s mission to build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
This year’s annual report highlights some of HFHMM’s most significant achievements, including:
-
Breaking ground on our largest project in history: We are thrilled to be spearheading the construction of 27 affordable homes, which will provide families with a safe and secure place to call home. This project represents a major step forward in our mission to address the critical need for affordable housing in our region.
-
Developing an ambitious 5-year strategic plan: Our dedicated staff and board worked to create a comprehensive plan that will guide HFHMM's growth and ensure we can serve even more families in the years to come.
-
Organizing successful fundraising events: Through our 3rd Annual Polo Classic, 14th Annual Building Hope Morning Mixer, Women Build, 18th Annual Golf Tournament, and other events, we have raised vital funds to support our mission and continue Habitat's vital work.
-
Engaging with the community: We are committed to building more diverse teams of volunteers and strong relationships with our partners and stakeholders, and we have enjoyed numerous opportunities to connect with the community with corporate, faith and community engagement activities.
As we look to the future, we have ambitious goals, but we are confident that by working together we can make a meaningful difference. HFHMM will continue to provide affordable homeownership where individuals and families have the opportunity to build stability and wealth for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Gerard McLoughlin
